Reading the Krakoa run, Emma Frost has secretly and steadily become one of my favorite X-men.

The combination of sassy, bitchy, petty but also competent and fabulous is just so much fun, compared to the dour Xavier or Magneto.

I think it was the Hellfire Gala where she changed outfits like 4 times but also announced to the world that the X-men were terraforming Mars might be the best encapsulation of her.

Anyway, she’s called the White Queen or Winter Queen so I put her on a chessboard and also because I needed something to fill the background. I always hate drawing backgrounds.

And I love that little knowing smirk on Xavier’s face. He’s into it.
